Thinking of joining Otis and Friends? Here's what happens next.

Welcoming a new dog into our walking group is something I take great care with. Every dog is different, so the process is all about making sure they feel safe, happy and ready to enjoy their walks. Here's how we get started, step by step.

Anya, dog walker in Crystal Palace, meeting a new dog at Crystal Palace Park

Step 1 – Initial Enquiry

What you do: Reach out via contact form, WhatsApp, or email.

What we ask: Your postcode, your dog’s name, age, breed, personality, plus your ideal walk times.

Next: If we’re available in your area, we’ll arrange a quick chat to confirm details.

Step 2 - Meet & Greet

What happens: We meet at a local park (Crystal Palace park, South Norwood Country Park etc) so you, your dog, and I can get acquainted. This is all about helping your pup feel comfortable.

Next steps:

  • If your dog is ready for group walks, we’ll schedule a trial group stroll.

  • If a 30‑minute 1‑to‑1 walk would help them adjust first, we’ll arrange that.

  • If we feel we’re not the right fit, we’ll let you know, always in the interest of your dog’s wellbeing.

Step 3 - Trial Walk

What happens next: Your dog joins their first group walk, with pick-up, lots of supervision, and photo updates at the end.

What we look for: How your dog behaves with the group and whether they’re thriving.

Next steps:

  • If all goes well, they continue with regular walks! Please note, the first month will be a trial month

  • If we feel adjustments are needed, we’ll work together to find the best solution.
